Some days, on a cold winter's day, I travel alone. Just for the sake of traveling, and being alone. And on those days, I swear, I see someone in the wind.
The acid rain poured down in a surreal form, carrying a strange sense of negative karma with each drop against my closed eyes. And with it, I could feel the world around me break to pieces, as my emotions reached the heavens, taunted my sins in chemicals and destroyed my pride. Even in my comatose of the senses, it felt like nothing ever before, like my chest was free to move in and out with breath that seemed to say, “I'm alive.”

Moths moved about, clambering for the dim light of the bar lamps, the unlucky winners falling to the ground, where a wry-looking bartender swept them away dutifully under the bar. His patrons chattered loudly, drunk off what must have been their fifth round that night, when they should have been home with what was left of their families. But who was he to tell them that?
